Since welcoming its first guests in 2005, Landmark in Corona Del Mar, Calif., has become a Southern California landmark in its own right. In 2012, new owners Kelly and Scott Polston led the restaurant in a transformation conceived to refine the art of upscale dining and entertainment. The chef’s remarkable plates are now reflected in every corner of the stunning restaurant, with beautiful abstract artwork that sets the tone for an extraordinary dining experience that’s suited to the local lifestyle. Sophisticated Orange County customers can enjoy meals rivaling those of San Francisco restaurants but bursting with Orange County flavor.
ART ON THE PLATE: PAINTING WITH FLAVOR. Landmark’s menu draws from a palette of fresh, seasonal ingredients to create masterpiece meals that are simultaneously familiar and unique. Farms and seasons determine the selections; artful culinary techniques allow the ingredients to shine.
Landmark’s imaginative menu satisfies every palate, offering a bright selection of appetizers; hand-crafted pastas; fresh, free-range, sustainable meat, poultry and seafood; and distinctive desserts to indulge any sweet tooth. Each dish pairs perennial favorites with unexpected flourishes for fresh, exciting flavors. Highlights include house-made burrata with basil and heirloom tomatoes; lobster croquettes with grits, fennel, shallots and lavender honey; and Pacific Yellowtail Jack with cauliflower gnocchi. Year-round staples sing when accompanied by seasonal salads and vegetables. In cases where exotic ingredients are cleaner and fresher—such as oysters from the crystal-clear waters of Washington—Landmark is proud to feature them on the menu. The point is to offer the freshest food (Landmark doesn’t even have a freezer) and the finest flavors that make every meal unforgettable.
LANDMARK: THE ART OF FINE DINING. The restaurant’s fresh flavors are inspired by the art Executive Chef Ryan Robertson. (The plates themselves are specially made by Tustin based potter, Kevin Myers). Internationally acclaimed, award-winning designer Dennis Jenkins directed a redesign that features 25 pieces of abstract art to provide an immersive environment where customers enjoy food that’s both high concept and down to earth. The result is an experience that transcends the food and takes enjoyment to the next level with beautiful, welcoming surroundings that enhance every bite. The relaxing patio—one of the largest in Corona Del Mar—offers the perfect setting for a glass of wine at sunset or sharing an exquisite meal with friends. Heating lamps keep guests toasty when the sea breeze picks up, making dining al fresco a delicious option every night of the year.
ELEVATED SERVICE: THE ART OF ENHANCING A MEAL. Every carefully orchestrated component of the service enhances the dining experience at Landmark, where the highly trained staff shares details on how each dish is sourced and prepared—always on point and attentive without being intrusive. They make knowledgeable suggestions on beverage pairings from a thoughtful menu of wines and craft beers, as well as signature cocktails created from scratch with seasonal ingredients to suit the changing menu.
THE LOUNGE: THE ART OF ENTERTAINMENT. The after-dinner crowd stays late at Landmark and paints the town red as the main dining room turns into a dance floor, and guests enjoy HD plasma TVs and the only permitted dance floor in Corona Del Mar, with room for 200. A 37-foot bar serves as the centerpiece of the cozy lounge, offering a vast selection of beers and assorted spirits that range from popular choices to the most exclusive top-shelf brands. VIP bottle service accommodates guests in the lounge and on the patio. Bottle-service customers also relish tasty bites from an exclusive late-night menu. Sundays feature live acoustic music.
FAMILY: THE ART OF HOSPITALITY. While this venture is their most ambitious undertaking to date, the Polstons are no strangers to the industry; like their parents before them, they have run successful establishments for years. Their love of family infuses every aspect of the business, where children are welcome. Their leadership of Landmark is a passion that feeds Kelly and Scott’s family of six—and countless more OC families; the couple work with Second Harvest Food Bank, Giving Children Hope/We’ve Got Your Back and other local organizations that distribute food to those in need.
